Mrs. Bratta's Homepage - American Sign Language
American Sign Language
American Sign Language is an enriching and rewarding language to learn. You will be learning not only how Deaf individuals use ASL to communicate but also how they use it to come together as a culture and community. This course will develop communicative proficiency in American Sign Language at the beginning (ASL I) and intermediate (ASL II & III), levels. The focus will be on language skills of expressive signing using sign language, and receptive signing (comprehending another signing). Finger spelling and signing is introduced through relevant situations using functional expressions. Deaf culture will be integrated into the program and audio-visual aids and projects will be used.
